Its been a busy week here, hot, dry, thundery downpours and now its almost a bit chilly - a lot can change in 7 days! The most exciting thing for me this week garden-wise is watching the growth of the loofah (see photo below). It is our first year growing loofahs, they are really fun, fast-growing and vigorous climbers so every day there is a new bit to train. The greenhouse is getting new additions of wire, canes and string in an attempt to make the plant grow where we want it to rather than where it wants to…which isn’t always the most convenient place. We only have one fruit at the moment, but the season is fairly young, and the speed at which this one is expanding we could get plenty more yet. Here is a comparison photo of it just 7 days apart…
