A Tree in Your Pocket

I have had this little book for years (bought in 1999) and love it dearly. As it says in the title, it fits in your pocket and has accompanied me on various days out.

One finds all our well known trees of the UK in the pages of this book, and the writer goes into the details of each tree's description, associated folklore, myths and legends as well as healing properties and even magical powers. The history of the discovery, introduction to the country, ideal growing conditions and historical uses of the trees is fascinating and I have learned so much…it really opens your eyes to how amazing trees are, plus it has lovely illustrations. Highly recommended.
